Online gaming - How can we reduce its worst effects

Online gaming is a hobby which was already popular but is becoming very popular during this time of lockdown and partial opening up. Some of the popular games are Fortnite, PUBG, Minecraft etc. Currently there are more than 2 billion online gamers in the world, and - THAT’S A LOT. But as we all know, gaming can damge our eyes as it requires a lot of intense screen time and is generally not good for health. So, how can we reduce it’s worst effects?

Some of my suggestions are:

  • We should play games for a fixed amount of time. According to me, we should not play for more than 1.5 hours. Fix a time period in which you will play video games so that you don’t play over the limit. A duration of 1.5 hours is good enough to enjoy the online gaming experience.
  • Try to wear anti-glare glasses while playing if you have them. This way, there would be less strain on our eyes and one would not get a headache. This way, one’s eyes would not be affected as much, no redness or soreness due to he extra strain.
  • Play in the open or in a park nearby, longer than playing video games. You will remain healthy and fit if you do this. Play online games but physical activity, fresh air and natural light are also important.

So, these are some ways in which we can reduce worst effects of online gaming.
